Silver spring, md
Went to silver spring, md today to pick up my lost wallet from 3 weeks
ago from the metro lost and found office. This was my first time in
silver spring so I walked around a 3 block area and had lunch at Mi
Rancho. The food was basic unspired tex-mex, service was prompt but not
nice or above average.
Interesting things about silver spring are that there must have been
rampant crime there in the last 20yrs. There are bars and grates still
on some businesses windows. There seems to be a gloss of new money and
maybe of gentrification but it has a long way to go. There are apt
bldgs around the metro instead of condos, which was nice to see
actually.

wipeout!
Once again I rode home from the metro stop in the rain tonight. On the way home I was going to cross a street I had the right of way on, the walk signal was on, and some moron drove at speed into the intersection, over the white pedestrian lines, and was only looking toward oncoming traffic, not both ways for pedestrians. I had to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting him and lost balance and fell in the street in front of his car, which continued to roll toward me until one of my shoulders was under his front bumper. I got up and my bike wasn't damaged and neither was I despite making contact with the pavement with right hand, forearm, and leg, and waved the asshole off as he mouthed 'Did I hit you?' as he crept around the corner. He hadn't hit me but thanks only to my reaction time, if I had been at the intersection 2 seconds sooner I could have been hurt much worse. As it is I'm not hurt at all to any appreciable degree.

Oh! Abstinence! What a good idea!
Good Xian Dicks:
Sex Is For Fags!
"Premarital sex isn't worth it! You can catch AIDS, or cancer, or testicle weevils, or a bad body image or rickets. You know what IS worth it? Making love to Jesus. Because you can't knock Him up and He'll never ask what you're thinking – cuz He already knows!"
and Inverted Xian Cunts:
Iron Hymen
"OHMIGOD, like, Iron Hymen taught me to respect myself way too much to ever let some hairy creep hock man-lugies on my Godly cervix like it's some gross subway platform!"
because Jesus be fucked if somebody enjoyed the bits they grew up with. Way to go abstinence programs, ur mega cool!!

What have I been up to lately?
Well, I'll tell you. I've had a cold since last Sunday and I'm finally over it. It went pretty quickly compared to the ones that can linger for 2-3 weeks but it was the typical cold with lots of snot and coughing and lung phlegm, yes, quite gross. I took Thursday and Friday off this week on the plan of hanging out with friend Marcus and of course I wasn't sick last week when I got the time off. Luckily I wasn't too bad those days and some Tylenol cold day and night medication helped alot so we went into DC and had a nice time walking around and seeing friends.
Today I had brunch at Tallula and read 'Divided Darkness' by John Shirley in a park for awhile, then I went for a bike ride down to Courthouse and ended up exploring a bit and that ended up turning into a good hour long bike ride. The ride was fantastic! It was so good to be out on my bike after a week of not riding. I found some hills that really worked my legs and I got very nice and sweaty.
Other than that I've just been very busy at work and putting in 9-15hr days. :D

Dinner
Dates, havarti cheese, fig & almond cake, and unsalted nuts, followed by
the last of the hummus and a round of pita, and finally a bunch of green
grapes.

Yumm-O!
Day out with Marcus
I took Thursday and Friday off of work to hang out with Marcus who had
taken the whole week off. We went into DC on Thursday and walked
through the revamped National Aquarium and the Portrait Gallery. The
National Aquarium is such a joke we knew that it would suck but still
paid $5 to view the suckage. Afterwards we went to Larrys Lounge to
meet up with Wesley and Jamie and have several beers and martinis.
Great fun was had by all and we walked up the street to have an 11pm
snack at Amsterdam Falafel.

On Friday we just spent half the day in Clarendon and I took pics of a
colorful bike, pretty flower, Marcus, and a bush beside Barnes & Noble.
We had lunch at Wilson Cafe and then a scoop of coconut and a scoop of
choconanas gelato from Boccata Gelato.
