WMATA Metro is full of FAIL today

I got to Clarendon station at 9am and had to wait over 15 minutes for a train.  This is because another train was parked in the tube in front of it.  Once we boarded the train it held for a few minutes and then offloaded us and proceeded empty down the line.

There was some kind of difficulty far down the line but come the fuck on.

Its now 9:26am and I haven't even started my commute.  There's no telling when I'll get to work in Bethesda.

White Hibiscus?

I was walking along the sidewalk on the way to the Metro and saw these.  I think it's white hibiscus but I've never seen blooms with white petals before.

Odd commercial

There's been a very odd commercial on cnn lately about Congress 'taxing your simple pleasures, like fruit drinks and soda'.
This is silly because given the level of fatassness in the USA everyone knows they should be drinking water and not guzzling empty calories.
Overlooking its blatant(sp?) Pro-useless-goods bent, you can tell it's just a side-swipe at the Presidents healthcare reform measures.

As seen Sunday afternoon

At Clarendon after dropping Brian off at the Metro.  I was walking down the street and noticed something new about this broken street light.
Good luck, Jim!

July 17 2009 bike ride

Yesterday was warm (80F) and humid (50%) but there was a breeze and for the most part felt like a nice day.   I relaxed through the morning and had Earls for breakfast and went to Java Shack for a macchiato and muffin and then hit home to relax awhile longer.  When the late afternoon rolled around I decided to head out for a 20 mile ride from Arlington VA to Bethesda MD.   I ride down to Rosslyn and cross the Key Bridge to Georgetown and then hook up with the CCT (Capital Crescent Trail) and zip up to Bethesda.

Heh.  Hot or Psycho?

Though I think its funnier to ask, 'Am I going to fuck you or eat your soul?' and, 'Could you tell the difference?'.

Parking meter FAIL

Outside Earls sandwich shop.  I didn't park, rode my bike of course, but saw this parking meter flashing FAIL.

Attacked by peddles

My new beautiful aluminum peddles with studs drew first blood today.  My knee bore the brunt of the attack as I was carrying my bike up out of the basement.

P.S. I still love my peddles.

John Pershing Park not an ice rink

Haircut

New haircut.  Wow, short.

Deep fried french toast and breakfast

Very tasty at the founding farmers in foggy bottom DC.
