lots of funny!!

so, i was perusing itunes the other day to find new podcasts. well, that was weeks ago really. anyway, i found channel4's 'this is a knife' vodcast and subscribed to it. so i've been burning thru the eps slowly and finally watched one that featured ringmybell.tv. HELLA FUNNY! or at least interesting.

ear and sinus infection vaccine??

this would be wonderful for me personally. as a child i had lots of ear infections and throat infections. as an adult i do suffer with sinus infections.

so, this is a vaccine against bacteria and the article goes on to say that if it were successful and they could vaccinate against more strains of these bacteria, then the leading cause of infections would be the cold virus. which is great but...changing a populations dynamic always has some effect on it. someone should give some thought to the consequences of potentially having more cold viruses circulating. though, my assumption may be incorrect, there may not actually be 'more' cold viruses circulating just because there would be more 'well' people.

Vaccine aims to wipeout ear, sinus infections

Salina, Kansas High School Science Teacher Tries To Kill Entire Class

Blood drawing project leads to teacher suspension

This is great. Apparently since Kansas thinks Humans didn't evolve, but were instead 'created' by some god-thing, they must think that diseases don't exist either or that we, as alien beings on Earth, are immune to everything.

Stupid retarded southerners.

I think a lawsuit against the school for attempted manslaughter would be perfectly appropriate.

Bumpy clouds

You probably can't see it very well but the underside of the cloudy
cover is bumpy and fluffy looking. I like that.

Comfortable?

This guy is way too comfortable. I'm at the Borders in clarendon
stripmall and this guy is laying on the floor with sweatpants and one of
those headbands that keeps your glasses on. He is, predictably, in the
role playing and sci-fi/fantasy area.

Whitlows on wilson for brunch

I'm at whitlows on wilson today for brunch. I ordered the western
omelette with sausage, home fries, english muffing, and 2 pancakes.
Jay, my waiter, did a good job of keeping my coffeecup filled and was
pleasant. I am now quite full.

Canopy construction continues

This is the canopy that is being built over the clarendon metro stop in
arlington, va. Its been iin construction now for 2 months or so. It
looks as though all the supports are up and they've started to put in
the glass. The metro stop is still useable as the escalators are
unobstructed. The canopy is nice because you won't get rained on while
you're on the escalator.

Mini

This 1/2 of 1 of 3 mini coopers I've seen driving around clarendon
recently.

Kitty in the wild

I'm walking down to clarendon from my house and took a sidestreet I
don't normally take. As I was walking down this street enjoying the
look of the houses a kitty appeared and let me take a picture of it.

ZOMG! What's in my shoe??

Its the beeper for seating from whitlows on wilson in clarendon
arlington virginia. I'm here for brunch and they got new ones since
week. This one looks like a medical scanner from star trek or babylon5,
except for the color, of course.

Wrath of ernesto

Just twigs and leaves everywhere from the winds and constant rains over
the last 3 days. No big deal.
We lost cable friday night from 630pm to just about 8pm and then it
blinked in/out 3 times that night til midnight.
People in dc and alexandria reported actual power outtages. They were
down less than a day.
