Obesity vaccine trial in rats

Well, here's the clincher, in the article there is a sentence about high
energy, palatable, western diets, which is good and bad. We as animals
love to eat food, its one of our core instincts. What we get into
trouble with is the kind of foods we eat. Instead of thinking 'eat less
food', which doesn't mean 'eat fewer twinkies', we should think about
eating food with more undigestible material. One of the problems is the
higher energy per volume of food that we have now with processed foods
and, criminal of criminals, high fructose corn syrup. We should
probably eating more raw vegetable material than ever because of the
indigestable fiber which fills us up with the volume of the food but
that we can't derive any nutrition from, which is a good thing.

There should be a way using modern food science to re-engineer a lot of
our foodstuffs to include 20-30% indigestable material (plant origin
please) so the energy content drops.

Or, instead, we could simply do it ourselves and eat more plants and try
to avoid 'mass food' when possible.

I do think engaging our immune system against our metabolism is a bad
choice to make.

Actually I wonder how the effluent would change if everyone was eating
more fiber?
